Clamp sections for steel & Aluminium vessels

The following extrusions are new to the Houdini product range and mark a significant step forward in the design of aluminium marine windows for the fitting to steel or aluminium structures.

These designs are all fastened from the inside of the vessel by an internal clamp ring with stainless steel machine screws. The heads of the machine screws are then concealed by a decorative plastic trim so that the fastenings are not visible from the interior or exterior of the vessel.

Designed to accommodate glazing thicknesses from 6mm to 15mm these sections are suitable for fitting to all types of craft ranging from inland river cruisers to Ocean going tugs. A unique feature of these new extrusions is that the outside appearance of the 3 frames is constant so that you can mix a requirement for thicker glazed windows at the front of a vessel with thinner glazed side windows without affecting the external appearance of the windows or the aesthetic lines of the vessel.

Clamp 6-8
This section is designed for use with 6 & 8mm glazing and can be fitted to structures ranging from 3mm to 20mm maximum. The inner clamp ring is drilled at 150mm centres. The minimum aperture corner radius for this section is 100mm measured at the aperture face.
Clamp 10-12
This section is designed for use with 10 & 12mm glazing and can be fitted to structures ranging from 3mm to 25mm maximum. The inner clamp ring is drilled at 150mm centres. The minimum aperture corner radius for this section is 100mm measured at the aperture face.
Clamp 15
This section is designed for use with 12 & 15mm glazing and can be fitted to structures ranging from 3mm to 25mm maximum. The inner clamp ring is drilled at 150mm centres. The minimum aperture corner radius for this section is 100mm measured at the aperture face.

This system has considerable advantages over the normal bolt in type of windows especially when fitted to steel or aluminium structures as there is no need to drill the structure for through bolts. This therefore eliminates the possibility of leaks and corrosion around the bolts that can result in unsightly rust streaks and also - very importantly for the boat-builder - fitting times are dramatically reduced, on average sized windows by approximately 50%

All the clamp sections incorporate the use of a hard plastic extrusion for the windows to slide on as this ensures with even the largest windows that a free and easy sliding movement is always maintained.
